How ArtPlacer thrived in 2024: growing together with artists and gallerists

By

If we needed one phrase to define 2024 it would be “everything you want is outside of your comfort zone”. We have worked to be the one-stop art marketing tool that gallerists and artists relied upon, and this year we took it one step further making our mark in the physical world and working together in projects where our tools help them make art more accessible.

This was the first year that we were right there in your favorite art fair, galleries and events through sponsorships and partnerships that allowed us to work closely to the movers and shakers of the artistic community and help them in a greater goal: creating strong art business that thrive in the long term.

The ArtPlacer team joined the Affordable Art Fair NYC fall edition.

The ArtPlacer experience: working in tandem with Galleries to elevate art fairs

We had a busy year full of opportunities to meet with people who are reshaping the world of technology and art. It all started with a visit to Miami Tech Week where we had the chance to interact and chat with industry leaders.

Our next visit was Art Basel in Switzerland, taking a deep dive into one of the most popular art fairs in the world along with other well-known exhibitions like Volta, June, Liste and Foundation Beyeler, where we had the chance to chat and meet galleries, art dealers and fair organizers, and get inspired to take one step forward into deeper collaborations.

During the fall, we stepped into the spotlight as the Art Marketing Partner of the Affordable Art Fair NYC fall edition. We had the chance to bring our Art Wall Advisory Sessions, where art marketing tools like Personal Spaces took center stage to empower art buyers to make informed purchase decisions by visualizing available artworks on their own walls.

This partnership brought us closer to the exhibiting galleries, with whom we worked closely, providing them with art marketing tools like Room Mockups and Online Portfolios to bridge the gap between the physical and digital exhibition spaces, enriching the visitor’s overall experience. We also cattered guidance and learning resources on how to promote their exhibition at the Metropolitan Pavilion, you can find them inside ArtPlacer Academy, just logging into your ArtPlacer account or starting your free trial.

Aligned with our goal to work closely with art fairs and galleries, we landed in Argentina to get in touch with the Latin American audience, joining Pinta BA Photo in Buenos Aires as their Technology Partner, bringing the Art Wall Advisory Sessions to the fair, which enabled potential collectors to see exhibited photographic artwork in their own walls and explore the full exhibition through Online Portfolios quickly accessible through QR codes in the booths.

The end of the year brought us back to Florida with an exciting partnership. We worked along with long-time ambassador Sergio Gomez to bring to life the “Bodies of Water” exhibit hosted at 33 Contemporary Gallery in Palm Beach and in an online art show powered by ArtPlacer with over 50 artists showcasing works inspired by the symbology of water. They also had the exclusive opportunity to participate in a complementary art marketing webinar presented by Gomez.

Also in Miami, at the start of December, we partnered up with Pinta Miami as their Technology Partner providing tools and support to exhibiting galleries that would help them establish a more enriching connecting in situ with visitors by providing them with tools to visualize exhibited art in their own homes along with full access to digital catalogs.

Cory Huff, founder of The Abundant Artist, hosted the exclusive “Art Business Coaching Sessions” inside ArtPlacer Academy.

Giving back: ambassadors come together to share their knowledge to the artistic community

ArtPlacer Academy was born with the intention of providing the artistic community with helpful educational content ranging from art marketing to sales, and the basis of how to run a gallery or art business, or taking the reins of your art career.

In 2024, we continue to expand the available content for ArtPlacer users. The year started with “12 months of success: an emerging artist bootcamp,” which saw Sergio Gomez, Drew Harris, and Dr. Yanina Gomez share their expertise on planning a year to grow your art career.

This was followed by the sales-driven webinar “Creating the perfect artwork product page”, which allowed us to share industry expertise on how artists, gallerists, and print sellers can improve their websites to achieve more art sales. Sergio Gomez from Art NXT Level was back with “The Artist’s Path” webinar, sharing his insider views on the different career paths available for artists today.

Women’s History Month gave us a chance to uplift voices in our community by hosting weekly interviews with women who are paving the way in different areas of the art market in the “Women talks: reshaping the art world” interview series. Where gallerist Stephanie Coria, independent artist Camille Hunt and artpreneur Crista Cloutier had the chance to share their insider knowledge and their personal stories.

Cory Huff, founder of The Abundant Artist, joined us in the “How to write persuasive art sales emails” webinar and a series of “Art Business Coaching Sessions,” where he answered live questions and doubts from attendees. Members from the ArtPlacer community had the chance to have a one-on-one discussion with him about art sales, digital marketing, social media, and more.

You can rewatch all of these recorded events inside ArtPlacer Academy by logging into your ArtPlacer account or starting your free trial.

The new and improved Room Mockups showcase a more realistic look with a point of view with perspective.

How ArtPlacer grew to offer you top-notch art marketing tools

2024 was a year of improvement for existing features and the time when we took our suite of tools one step further to help artists and gallerists in their everyday work.

Here are the new features and updates that ArtPlacer presented in the past 12 months:

Lead generating tools

A key aspect of any modern art business is lead generation or reaching out and expanding the pool of potential collectors. This year saw the release of integrated lead-generating tools like user data capture forms that seamlessly work along Online Portfolios and Website Integrations the ability to turn them into gated content that work as a lead magnet. With these integrations, visitors can drop their name and email and enter any art business art sales funnel, all new connections can be managed from the “Contacts” tab on the ArtPlacer dashboard.

New Room Mockups

Have you seen our new and improved Room Mockups? This year brought a full revamp to this community favorite tool that included a redesign of the dashboard that makes it easier to filter the spaces you want to find and keep and hand past designs, access Curated Collections in different styles you can find by clicking in the search bar like “Magazine Inspired” presenting luxury spaces that appeal to a high-end audience, “White Organic” showcasing minimalist rooms that highlight the artworks, or the favorite “Seaside Charm” with a fresh vibe that matches the coastal aesthetics.

Through the power of a survey, we gave our users a chance to express what settings they were looking for, and we made sure to deliver and cater to these needs by using top-notch technology. Our AI-generated rooms came up as a solution that allowed us to amplify the various design styles available with new spaces that answered community requests and desires, providing ArtPlacer users with unique, tailored options that enriched how they showcase art in exquisite, high-quality rooms.

The process of how to create a Room Mockup has been enhanced with new features like “Smart guides” available to help you position and align your artworks. Another improvement is the ability to duplicate or replace an artwork with just one click on the piece. Plus, you can fix any mistake with the shortcut “CTRL + Z” to “undo” any action. Do you want to see more spaces similar to the ones you are working with? Now, you can click on “Rooms” while editing your mockup to get new suggestions.

A new addition to Room Mockups is the array of spaces with perspective that allows you to showcase your art in an angled point of view that offers a more realistic and organic look. With the same intention of achieving real-life-looking results we added the “Glass reflection” effect to our Frame Builder.

Online Portfolio

ArtPlacer’s Online Portfolio had a full revamp that turned it into a key feature for gallerists, art dealers, and independent artists looking to showcase available artwork in a friendly, ready-made design, that’s visually striking and highlights the presented pieces along with essential information like an artist statement, integrated art visualizations tools and a contact form to get in touch and inquire about a piece. The best part? The Online Portfolio is easily sharable via a link or in a QR code you can place on your gallery or art fair wall.

Try-before-you-buy plugins improved

“Try-before-you-buy” plugins or Widgets are a community favorite that allow visitors to your art business or gallery website to visualize art at scale on their own walls and even in selected rooms. In 2024, we presented a new user-friendly Widget Generator that simplifies the customization and set-up of these website integrations that work with all major providers like Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress.

Our founders, Martin Zaleski and Nicolas Michael, at Affordable Art Fair NYC.

What’s to come? ArtPlacer’s plans for 2025

In the new year, our goal is clear: we want to keep working closer with galleries and art fairs to elevate how art is visualized and interacted with. We want to help them build strong art businesses that thrive in the long term and make art more accessible to art lovers and collectors.

With this goal in mind, we are moving forward, making improvements on existing features and working on upcoming updates that will help gallerists and art dealers improve the way they present art to potential clients to generate more sales opportunities.

We are proud to see where this year has taken us, and we are truly excited to see what’s in store for 2025.
